It took a huge amount of detailed planning and preparation but hosting more than 200 agri and rural journalists from around the world to showcase innovation in British agricultural, food and drink production was nothing less than a triumph.
From pre-Congress in London and the south-east, through the main Congress, and on to the post-Congress tours in the Midlands and Wales, journalists and broadcasters were informed and entertained in the most professional way possible, while enjoying the best of British regional food and drink.
The Chairmen of the Guild and the Congress, the whole Congress Organising Committee, thank our sponsors, delegates and all those who helped to make this year’s Congress nothing less than a resounding success. We now wish our colleagues in New Zealand the very best, as they take on the responsibility for organising IFAJ 2015. We look forward to seeing you there!
Four comprehensive guides were published by the British Guild, each containing masses of information about the places delegates would visit and the people they would meet:
These publications alone illustrate the vision and attention to detail that went into staging an enormously successful event that reflects well on the British Guild and its members.
For those who attended Congress, there’s more information in the Resources area – you’ll have been sent your password in your post-Congress email.
And you can view some of the terrific coverage achieved by our delegates on the media coverage pages, coming soon!
Generously sponsored by Agrovista, and produced by Breeze and Freeze, the IFAJ 2014 Congress video will stir memories and enjoyment for those who were there – and for those who weren’t there, you can see what you missed out on…
The British Guild of Agricultural Journalists hosts the prestigious IFAJ World Congress for an unprecedented sixth time in 2014.
Entitled Innovations from a Small Island, the event will showcase British food and farming to the global media.
The IFAJ2014 congress will attract 220 leading journalists and influential media representatives from across the world.
Delegates represent 3,000 IFAJ members from 32 countries. Some 45 visitors will also attend the Pre- and Post-Congress tours.
